Chaguoo Social Commerce Platform

The Chaguoo Social Marketplace Platform was an innovative project that aimed to revolutionize online shopping by combining e-commerce functionality with social media features. The platform was designed to create a community-driven shopping experience where users could discover products through social interactions, and engage with other shoppers. The project involved developing both a responsive web application and a cross-platform mobile app using React Native. The platform featured a unique social feed where users could see product recommendations from friends, chat with shop owners and interact through comments and likes. This social layer was designed to increase user engagement and drive organic product discovery. The marketplace functionality included posts, product listing, comments, and a store front management platform. The social features included user profiles, friend connections, product sharing, reviews and ratings, and a social feed algorithm that personalized content based on user preferences and social connections. Despite the successful technical implementation and delivery of all planned features, the project was discontinued by the client due to business strategy changes. The platform demonstrated the technical feasibility of social marketplace and provided valuable insights into user behavior in social shopping environments.
